If you were able to go to the last Forever21 sale then you are for sure not missing out on this one.

If you haven't yet here are my tips for you:

1) Before going to the store you have to have an idea of what you need or is missing in your wardrobe. Once there, grab everything you like. Don't think about it yet, just grab;

2) As soon as you've made your way thru the items go to the nearest dressing room and line up. (yes there will be a line for sure);

3) When fitting your items segregate them in three categories: yes, no, and maybe;

4) Line up at the cashier and pay for your YES items. (Decide on your "maybe" items while in line;

Remember, a "good buy" is only worth it when you bought something you like!

EURO 2011

I have not blogged in a while because I am still here in Europe enjoying my vacation. Now that I have some time to share with you what I have been doing please take the time and read my entry.

Planning this trip took some effort from yours truly. I like immersing myself in the culture of the city I am visiting so I do not like joining the tour groups or cruise that travel agencies offer. Some prefer that, I just don't.

My husband and I, together with out friends/business partners, are on a three-week trip in Europe. The route is Manila-Paris-Zurich-Venice-Rome-Florence-Paris-Manila. I know you are all wondering why we did Rome before Florence or why we have to go back to Paris. Well here is why, with the dates that we choose to be in Europe we had to be in Rome before Florence because we did not want to join the rest of the crowd visiting the Vatican for Pope John Paul II's beatification (he will now become Blessed Pope John Paull II). That is one step away from becoming a Saint.

Second, Florence has to be our last stop for shopping. You will soon find out why as I blog our trip in partial fulfillment (sounds like my high school term paper). You have seen some of the things I saw in Paris. Let me just share what we did during our first stop there.

My husband proposed to me in Paris and I have great memories there from several trips in that lovely city so it has been our deal, John and I, to always go to Paris whenever in Europe. For the first few days I immersed myself in chocolate croissants! My favorite in the world! Only the best in France! The right amount of semi-sweet chocolate inside that perfectly flaky croissant!

Soon after breakfast we walk the streets of Paris. Well, not most of the time because we would take the Metro. I wish that our "MMDA Art" could be more elaborate like the ones in Paris' Metro tunnels.

I guess it is only fitting that I share with you some artistic creations that I loved in Paris at the Les Marais area. There are a lot of galleries in that area and you get to discover new artists from different parts of the world. Forgive me if I am not able to site the artists as of the moment. I have their profiles in my luggage back in Paris.

I will post more about these artists when I get home. Moving on, I had to make a quick stop in Champs Elysees to buy some moisturizing products since the weather is making my skin flaky and dry.

Forgot to bring my hair brush so I had to buy one; Body milk and facial cleanser that is moisturizing at the same time. Sephora brands are actually good products.

 I need a more intense moisturizer for the face so I bought this from Clinique and it came with an eye cream already. Plus, SPF 25 is helping my face from burning and sun damage that can lead to premature skin aging.

 Then I spotted these pretty things! Sold out in Manila so I had to get some right?? Hahahaha!

I wasn't really planning on buying. I was just looking around when this guy right here started putting bronzer and eye make-up on me. I also had to ask if he was gay (because he did NOT seem gay). He said "I like girls and only girls." He probably thought I was trying to hit on him so I paid for my stuff and left. Hahahaha!

 I got a Wonder Woman bronzer, eye palette, and a lip gloss all from MAC.

I also had to get these band aids for my toes. i don't want to hurt myself from walking. It has a cushion and aloe vera and salicylic acid to help heal blisters just in case you have one or two already. I will stock up on these!! Hehehehe!!

My tummy is now growling and I can smell the pizza and pasta waiting for me outside at San Marco. I have to go and enjoy the rest of my trip. I will update you more later. So many things to share and blog about. In the mean time you can all laugh at my toes "cramping on my style" because I walked too much! Hahahaha!

P.S. I am going back to Paris in a week so let me know if you have some stores you want me to visit. Share your Paris favorites by emailing me at angelicopter899@gmail.com

PARIS DAY 1: INTERESTING FINDS

I am very lucky to have visited Paris several times and I am grateful for that. It gives me the luxury of getting lost in the city and just loving the Parisian culture. Going into Spring (if not here already) I decided to wear colorful outfits in Paris. Got this shirt/dress, tights, and shoes all from Forever21 in the Philippines. I tell you, my shoes were a hit. I got stopped and asked where I got them several times and some took photos. I wonder if the Sartorialist is around (we can all dream right).

On our first day we decided to walk around Les Marais, and here you will find art and French fashion. It was a long walk but loved every step we took. Each store has something new to showcase. You are NOT allowed to take photos BUT I was able to sneak in some shots to share with all of you.

 Inside a souvenir shop which also sold a lot of watches and collectibles.

Inside a home accessory shop have a lot of great finds. But I was only able to sneak in a few shots. I got caught, hehehehehe!

I will share more of my finds and experience in Paris in the next days. Need to pack my bags because I'm headed to Zurich tomorrow!  =)

DVT?? IS IT JUST ME???

Perhaps I haven't had to fly long hours for the past 2 years that I experienced DVT. It shocked me, I was caught off guard. I got scared. I cried. But now I am thankful.

DVT, short for Deep Vein Thrombosis, is commonly mistaken as leg cramps when you're inflight. That's what happened to me the other day during my flight from Hong Kong to Paris via Cathay Pacific. I woke up from a short nap thinking my legs were cramping. After over an hour the pain did not go away and it got worse. The best way I can describe it is like having contractions all thru out your legs. Oh my goodness was it painful.

Taken from Aviation Knowledge website:

"Deep Vein Thrombosis, or DVT, can be explained as a blood clot that forms in a vein deep in the body. Blood clots occur when the blood thickens and clumps together. DVT usually occurs in the lower leg or thigh, and this is one of the medical conditions that often happen on passenger on board in the aircraft, especially when you do not move a lot during the flight."

I finally decided to get a flight attendant to ask for a pain killer. I was in tears. She smartly sought her superiors advice and immediately I had four flight crew members assisting me. I got scared. They all looked so worried. I couldn't stand. I was experiencing excruciating pain on my whole left leg. My left leg was suffering but they said I had to force myself to stand and try to move my leg or else there might be "clotting" which is NOT GOOD!

They held me while I tried to stand. The crew members would move my leg for me because I could not do it on my own. They promised me and my husband that I will get better. They told me that it was smart of me to ask for assistance. believe me you, with that pain you will call out for help. After an hour I could already walk but with a limp. Now they asked me to lie down and they put hot compress on my leg to stimulate blood circulation.

I was very thankful to the crew especially after researching on what DVT really is. Everyone, please, be careful. It doesn't happen all the time but it does happen. I know we all ignore the inflight exercise videos but we have to make sure to practice it in flight especially if you are traveling in Economy class where there is less room for leg movement. If you could during check-in, request for more spacious seating. Also, travel wearing lose clothing. No skinny jeans for the girls. Hydrate yourself, drink lots of water. If you feel it's more than just a leg cramp DO NOT take pain killers right away. Ask for assistance. The inflight manager will know how to help you.

Do not worry, I am all better. It was my first time to experience anything like this. I often travel but I guess it was one of those days where in I was not hydrated, I was wearing tighter jeans, or I just did not move enough inflight ( I did a Modern Family marathon; and I was not laughing after 24 episodes of season 1). Lesson learned!

Will post more blog entries of my Euro-Trip 2011 in the next days as promised. Great finds in day one. Wait for it!! I know the flight was not a great start but I am super happy now!! Wait and see!!!

KRISTA RANILLO GIVES BIRTH!!!

I know you are all wanting to see this photo so I will post it. Give me your thoughts!!

THIS IS SO COOL!! Eric Whitacre's Virtual Choir 2.0, 'Sleep'

Eric Whitacre's Virtual Choir was just launched the other day and it is absolutely great! Over 2,000 videos collected months ago from countries worldwide, including the Philippines!!

Ryan Aimel Estandarte kept me updated with the progress of the Virtual Choir 2. Let's just say I interviewed him via email and when asked on how they prepared for this here is what he said:

"The scores were given I think early of 2010, inviting everyone to join in with no auditions (unlike the first one where they gave free scholarships for the best one per voice). All that you have to do was to record yourself singing a certain part of the score (either you're Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass) then upload it in youtube. You can also record with a choir singing this score too which was different unlike the first one.

4 Filipinos joined in the virtual choir (including myself) where 3 are from Manila while one is from Visayas. If you want to see the entire cast or the location where the singers are from, you can visit http://ericwhitacre.com/the-virtual-choir/earth-view

The first deadline of the submission of the videos was December 31, 2010. However, it was moved to January 10, 2011 as mentioned in Eric Whitacre's tweet due to the heavy snow fall then. The final release of the video based on the latest blog entry will be some time April of this year."

True enough it is April and the Virtual Choir 2 is here! Can you spot our fellow "kababayans" in this video of Virtual Choir 2??

Anna Salvina Fontanilla for Soprano 1
Celia Binas for Alto 2
Vincent Paul Evangelista for Tenor 1
Tristan Custodio for Tenor 2 and Bass 1

Congratulations for making it to the Virtual Choir! We hope to hear more of you! Perhaps a Philippine dedicated Virtual Choir since we have Filipinos all over the world!  What do you guys think??

CAMBRIDGE SATCHEL: HOT AND FLUORESCENT!!!

As you can tell with my blog's design I love color! So when spring and summer fashion is around that is the time I spend more than I should... It is all worth it though because there is nothing wrong with sporting colorful fashion all year round.

Over a few weeks ago I met Ms. Ruby Gan of Schu Shop Manila! She walked up to me during our station's anniversary event over at Bonifacio High Street. She admired my 14" red Cambridge Satchel and asked to take a photo of me with it. I smiled and said yes of course.

Then she informed me that they are now the OFFICIAL DISTRIBUTOR of CAMBRIDGE SATCHEL here in Manila. I immediately thanked God, and also asked Ruby if they will have the summer fluorescent collection of the satchels. She said "YES" and I was thrilled! We exchanged numbers and now I await...

Waiting will soon be over because I just received a message from her that these babies will be arriving this April!  They are accepting orders and reservations!! If I were you get a hold of one now!! I reserved for an orange satchel!! ;)
