SMART ALL STARS!!!

As promised, here are some photos I took with the NBA Players that visited and played for team SMART ALL STARS!

Thank you sir MVP for having me and now officially part of Sports5 I am very excited as to what is in line ahead.  Mixed Martial arts, Boxing, Basketball, Football... A whole lot of good things ahead. Watch out guys! AKTV on IBC 13, Sports5's sport channel, has a whole lot of surprises for everyone. I guess you'll be seeing more of me there. =)

Got this from Facebook...Decided to just walk up to Kobe Bryant during half time and ask him to sign my ID. He did!!

Of course I asked for a photo! He was nice to say yes...

And another one for safety!  =)

Look at how happy I was checking my phone to see if we had a good photo! Hehehehe!!

I was that close!! All the action right in front of my eyes. I was kinda hoping that Kobe, or Rose, would land on me. Hahahaha!

Well, I guess I was...I don't know what I was thinking here. Hahahaha!

That night I decided to go to KYSS and look who was there?? Durant and McGee inside the DJs booth having fun!

Kevin Durant was enjoying himself!  And the crowd loved him! He was rapping away...All I could remember were some Jay-Z songs.

So I guess that is Javale's paparazzi face? hahaha! He wasn't disappointed or anything. He was just trying to give a tough look.  ;)  And I was standing on a chair in the DJ's booth to get this shot..

This photo with Durant I asked him to smile 'coz McGee would not. Hahaha!  And he did. He was very friendly. He asked what song I wanted, I told him anything Jay-Z and he asked the DJ to play some Jay-Z.  He asked for my name and he was calling out "angelicopter blah blah blah" on the microphone.

I wish Rose was there... He was not. Tyreke Evans and Fisher were there along with their entourage. Fisher was at our table and he was really nice and a good boy. Was drinking water the whole night and just watching over his boys, I guess.

The first day of the ALL STARS Weekend was just amazing. I have more photos and videos to post. So visit my blog again soon!

MY OPINION IS MINE

Let me start by thanking all of those who follow my blog and find it interesting. I appreciate it very much. I decided to start “blogging” not to self-promote or anything like that. I decided to blog just to post what I find promising or relevant and share it with a few people who may share similar interests. With that said, I do not blog to persuade anyone into believing in my advocacies. We are in a democratic country, are we not?

I respect your comments, and positions. I am fully aware that we all cannot agree on the same things. That rarely happens. I’m sure you agree with me on that one.

On the Duterte video, I stated, “the end does not justify the means.” I stand by my statement. It was probably insensitive for me to not expound on that statement and assuming that everyone understood it. I am in front of my laptop now for two reasons the first being I found the time to do so and second is give you my two cents on the matter.

Let me put a disclaimer here: no, I do not feel the need to explain myself, or my thoughts to other people as long as I am not hurting anyone by doing so. No pun intended. I am also not convincing my readers to drop their own set of values and embrace mine. I love that you fight (not physically) for what you believe in.

So, here goes…

I did not say Duterte is a bad person.
I did not say that she does not love her people.
I did not say she has not accomplished anything for her city.

I simply stated that the end does not justify the means.

The “end” is the “goal” or objective. The “means” is the method or strategy one uses to reach their end.  As Aristotle puts it, happiness is the end of man. We all try to be truly “happy”. I am pretty sure that Duterte meant well. But this not give her the right to physically hurt someone be it in ethics or the laws of man. Never is it ok for one to physically hurt another human being.  We are not savages even if we are the only species in the world that kill our own kind. Sad, but lets make it a better place, shall we?

Why is this specific incident controversial when people physically hurt  other people everyday? Because she is a government official who should lead by example. Once a government official is sworn in he/she should know that her responsibilities go beyond outputs. Why do we give our president a tough time when he goes out for a drink or two in a bar, or when he shows interest in new women, or when he decides to buy a sports car? Because we are of a sensitive culture and these things matter to us. Did we not love it when President Noy Noy decided to lead by example when it came to the “wang-wang” escorts? I think this really is a no brainer.

But we commit mistakes, correct? We are not perfect. Duterte herself apologized for what she did. That is good that she recognizes it now that she has thought about it. I am pretty sure at that time she punched the officer her adrenaline rushed thru her veins and was not able to control her temper. It happens to the best of us.

Again, thank you for visiting my blog and respecting my opinion!

RANDOM GIFTS

Don't you just love receiving gifts? It's even better when it's not for any specific occasion. I received a goody bag from Forever21 today and i love their gifts. Thank you so much Forever21!

They told me that you can also get these items for free and/or at a discounted price with a minimum purchase of Php5,000.00 in store. Don't forget to ask the cashier for your coupon. This is part of their anniversary promotions this month. Yipee! This one is unilateral July 11, 2011 only if I'm not mistaken.

They have other gift items to be given away from Nivea, One Natirale, Tous Perfumes, and Clean and Clear.

For the golfers out there, or maybe just for the rainy season, get your free limited edition Forever21 foldable golf umbrellas for a minimum purchase of Php3,000.00 only. Nice! No photo of the umbrella yet because mine has bornite been delivered. Hahahahaha!

And if you're eyeing on that GE Digital Camera then you're in luck because SM Gadgets will be giving away coupons for great discounts! Clap clap!

Who knows, we might give away more gadgets on the show or here on my blog. ;)

RAKENROL!!!

I wish we can always make films as good looking as Rakenrol. Altough it's only a trailer I know this will be good. It looks very promising and it also doesn't hurt that it is directed by the talented Quark Henares (son of Dra. Vicki Belo).

I want to check out more of our local indie films. Can you give me suggestions of the really good ones? Thanks guys! Let me know what you think of the RAKENROL trailer too!  =)

DUTERTE, SHAME ON YOU!

I am posting this link here so that we will never forget that we have politicians who feel that they can get away with anything.

Remember, the end does not justify the means.
